Bamboo Flooring

Bamboo is one of the latest, and most popular, trends on the home flooring scene. Bamboo isn’t technically a hardwood. But it shares many qualities with the likes of ash, oak and maple, from durability and strength to a resistance to moisture. Not only does this flooring provide a singular, truly unique look, it is environmentally friendly, as the bamboo shoots replenish much more quickly than a growing tree. Invest in bamboo from Perfect Flooring today and join the revolution.

What makes bamboo so environmentally responsible? Unlike other flooring options, bamboo isn’t a wood. Instead, it’s a grass, belonging to a species that can grow up to several inches a day. Self-replenishing, bamboo doesn’t even need to be replanted after harvest. With a uniformly layered grain, bamboo is a light and even texture option for your floor.

Bamboo is a beautiful choice for any home, and features an extensive range of customization options. Offered in plank width’s ranging from 3 3/4” to 7 ½” inches, you have plenty of choices for exactly how you want your bamboo flooring to look.

Hand scraping is available for all our bamboo floors. With this custom and intricate level of distressing, your new bamboo floor will look straight out of the wild. Ideal for creating a classic, casual look.

If you want to add further distressing to your bamboo, beveled edges may be just what you’re looking for. Designed around two sides of each plank is a “V” groove that establishes the relaxed, nonchalant ambience your home will exude.

Cleaning your bamboo flooring.

Bamboo flooring, like with most hardwood and engineered hardwood flooring, should be treated carefully for optimal preservation. When cleaning, its best to use a standard household dust mop to remove any dust, dirt or build up from its surface. A stiff bristled broom can also be used on areas where stubborn dirt can lay inside your floors cracks and crevices.

At all times, try to avoid the use of wet mops on your bamboo flooring, as this can cause the bamboo to slowly warp over time. If it is necessary to mop the floor, make sure to wring out the mop thoroughly to prevent water from being released onto the flooring. Check any warnings on cleaning detergents before adding them to the mop water to make sure they are safe for general hard wood floors.

Bamboo’s strength, durability, resistance to pests and moisture and its environmentally-friendliness make for the perfect choice of hardwood flooring in nearly any room imaginable.
